Do you have a lot of things to look forward to but also end up feeling overwhelmed at times? Well, you’re not alone.
It’s December 2022 and soon it’s going to be time to bid goodbye to this year. If this year was phenomenal, I’m happy for you! If not, I'm sure you've heard that the best way to make it through a bad year is to make sure there's some good ahead.
Every year we feel all pumped up and motivated to hit the gym but find it difficult to even make it out of the bed a few days later. And then we beat ourselves down blaming ourselves for not being able to stick to it. Happens to the best of us, right?
Well, for the longest time I struggled with these too until I came up with a system to help myself stay on track and live to my fullest potential.
So, below I am sharing some actionable tips on how you can turn 2023 into an amazing one!
Evaluate 2022, write what worked and what didn't
Note down everything that worked in your favor and also include the things that didn't. Doing this will make you aware and help you learn from them. Write down how you felt through all of it? Who helped you along the way? What could you have done differently?
Jot down your vision for 2023
What do you want to accomplish in 2023? While writing this down ensure that you are very specific and realistic about it. Write goals that are tangible and that you think you can achieve in the next year.
List down your personal and professional goals
This is the last list, I promise! Well, making a list of professional goals can be tricky at times because some people face difficulties with writing down their ambitions. It’s important for you to take time each day to write about your plans, so that you don’t end up forgetting about them later!
Focus on clarity and action
Clarity is the first step in any action. The more you understand your problem, the more likely it is that you'll find a solution. Understanding what needs to be done and why it needs to be done will help with clarity as well. This may sound pretty easy but sometimes we forget about this when things around us get messy or complicated. When faced with an overwhelming task, try taking time out of your day when there's no distractions and no interruptions—just focus on one thing at a time.
Learn to prioritize
The first step to being successful is learning how to prioritize. What is the most important task that you need to work on right now? What's next on your list of priorities? What's least important and why? Once you've identified those things, make a plan for how you will accomplish them—and then stick with it! If some things don’t seem to work out, reevaluate their importance or work out a compromise.
Keep yourself accountable
You can do this by setting a time and date each week or month to review your goals, think about what you have accomplished so far, and plan ahead on how much longer it will take until they are complete. This will help keep you motivated and in check with what needs to be done before moving on with the next goal or step.
Celebrate small wins
Each time you achieve something, reward yourself. It’s easy for us humans to get caught up in focusing on the big picture while neglecting little victories along the way that may feel insignificant at first glance but can have huge effects later down the line when they add up into something significant.
So, give yourself a pat on the back for being persistent. Also, do not hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Do what works best for you. And don’t forget to enjoy yourself along the way.

Also, I’m not going to lie, it can be hard and sometimes things may not go according to plan, but with a little hard work and patience, it will all come together!
